Irony notwithstanding, Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story might have suited a title like The Tragedy of Capitalism. Heavily weighted in stories of personal misfortune, the film lacks the appropriate amount of facts to be considered a true financial documentary, but does well as a propaganda piece for those already predisposed to his brand of story telling. That being said, the subject matter is an important one. Perhaps one of the reasons the Americans hated the Russians and their Communist ways was because they could see a fundamental similarity in the two systems. Capitalism, like it’s much criticized opposite, is wonderful as a theory but when practically applied is fraught with complications.
